PEGASUS READING

Pegasus is a series in which students read novels and do lots of writing. Currently we are reading There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom by Louis Sacher. A fifth grade boy in the book, Bradley, has been going to the counselor. Carla, the counselor, suggests that he try to be good so others would not think he is a monster. She says one thing he could do is his homework. Bradley has never done homework. He begins to cry and says he can't. Carla assures him that he can do anything. He cries even harder and says he can't because he doesn't know what page they are on.
My students discussed that excuse. We decided we could make up better excuses. Some of their ideas are below. I hope you enjoy reading them.
